Praying Together
The Southern Asian Seventh-day Adventist Church is the walking advertisement of a house of prayer.
It is here that we experience the oneness of the great family of God. It is here that we feel the comfort
of God's love as the Holy Spirit draws us into the warmth of His presence. Prayer is our priority.
Calling on God for His guidance and presence is our greatest work.
Pray for one another: The whole church prays for one family on a
particular day during the year. A roster is prepared every month and distributed to all members.
A letter informs the one prayed for that the church family would be praying for them on that day and
that if they have any special requests they could call the office.
If you wish to be included in the rosters please contact us.
The circle of prayer: Every member is urged to commit one hour in prayer on a particular day
during the week. The special emphasis of this prayer is to plead with God for Him to
guide us in the ministries of the church and any other special requests and needs that
are of an urgent nature. There are still some slots open on certain days.
Volunteers are needed to be intercessors in the 24/7 circle of prayer.
Open requests for prayer:
A prayer book is placed in the foyer and anyone with a
special request for prayer can write their names and they are mentioned and prayed
for during the main divine service pastoral prayer, and members are requested to remember these petitions
in their personal prayers during the week.
Silent requests:
Envelopes and cards are kept in the foyer for those who have special private/personal petitions.
Individuals write their requests, seal them in envelopes and drop them in the Prayer Box.
All these requests are remembered in prayer during the divine service and all those in attendance on
Sabbaths are requested to pray for those sealed requests in their personal prayers.
Fasting and praying:
Every last Sabbath of the month is designated for fasting and praying.
Intercessors along with those with special urgent petitions meet after divine
service and pray until 5 or 6 in the evening. Due to our great need for God's
guidance we also call for special all-night prayer sessions as and when the need arises.
Individual prayer requests: Anyone can call the church office and request
the pastors, elders and personal ministries leaders to visit and pray with them.
Anointing prayer: We believe that anointing with oil and praying is commanded in the Bible.
When requested, pastors and elders set up a special time with the individual/family and have a special anointing service.
We have experienced the mighty working of God in this ministry. We wish to preserve and practice this
lost rite and believe that it should not become a last rite.
Prayer Cells:
Individual prayer groups are organized as soon as a friend opens their door and is willing to host a prayer cell in their home.
First of the Month Prayer:
Every first of the month a prayer meeting is held from 6-6:30 A.M.
